Media Commercialization

​It is not out of place for the media to be commercialized.

As commercialization is the intentional policy of increasing the monetary activities of the media in order to reduce their dependence on government or any individual.

In media commercialization the sole aim is to generate money 💰/ revenue for the establishment as services offered free of charge are no paid for.

In living up to the main purpose of a broadcast station, the management of a broadcast station might have challenges running it as a profit outlet.

This is where Ethics of professionalisms sets in, you don’t turn a blind eyes to news and occurrences because it is against the government or someone who sponsors the organization.

Commercialization of the media was or is done to enable the media be independent and have the power to speak their mind at anytime.

So, whenever a media outlet asks for revenues to promote something’s, whenever they go for a commercial break don’t feel it’s unprofessional, it is called commercialization.
