  A Nigerian pilgrim has died in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, following an undisclosed illness. Aisha Ahmed, from Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa state, died on Wednesday, June 29, after a brief illness according to Idris Al-Makura, Executive Secretary, Nasarawa State Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board. The deceased reportedly showed no sign of sickness before leaving Nigeria. When she became ill, she was first taken to the National Hajj Commission’s Hospital in Makkah and later transferred to the King Abdulaziz Hospital where she passed on.

UNIZIK student called out for allegedly sharing nude videos and photos of her female love rival on her Whatsapp status

  A student of Nnamdi Azikwe University has been called out for allegedly sharing nude videos and photos of her female love rival on her Whatsapp status.   Facebook user, Chizoba Miracle Emenaha in her call-out post, identified the student as Malizu Amaka.  According to Chizoba, the medical student shared nude videos and photos of her rival over a boyfriend they were fighting over. She added that they asked her to take down the posts but she has repeatedly refused. with this story, what do you make of our youths and our educational system?

Zamfara state government allows its citizens to carry ammunition in self-defense, a welcome development or nay?

 The Governor of Zamfara State, a state in the Northwestern region of Nigeria, has passed a bill that will allow its citizens to carry ammunition in self-defense against the banditry attack in the state.   Amid the uproar over his call for residents to arm themselves in defense against raging banditry, the Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle, yesterday, signed into law a bill for the prohibition and punishment for banditry, cattle rustling, cultism, kidnapping, terrorism, and other incidental offenses 2022.   The executive bill was sent to the House of Assembly a few weeks ago. The bill is part of the state government’s new measures to stem the tide of banditry, kidnapping, and cattle rustling that have bedeviled the state for over a decade.   What is your take on these? A welcome development or nay?

 Life has been different for everyone on earth, some were born with silver spoons, a few lost the spoon after birth, while some were born with wooden spoons, in all, we were all born. Some went to the best schools in town, while some of us made due with the community schools in our trenches. Few went outside the country after their first degree, to further their education, while some of us are looking for jobs complementing our first degree. Some got jobs immediately after their NYSC, some were retained in their places of primary assignment with good pay and accommodation, while some of us are willing to take up even teaching jobs to make a living. Some got married while we were in school, many others after their NYSC, some of us are fighting to get someone who can get up every morning thinking about us. Some had kids after marriage and are mothers and fathers now, while some of us are still struggling to have someone to call us Mum or Dad. That reminds me…. Some lost...
